Description:It seemed like forever that Olivia and I discussed heading to the beach to do some sets for the site. When we finally did manage to schedule a date, I checked out a few possible locations for sets out by the ocean. One of those locations was in front of a wrecked pier, which I assume was brought down by Hurricane Sandy. The pilings were still sticking up out of the ground, so I thought it would be an interesting spot.
When we walked down onto the beach we found a large breaker in the same area as the former pier. I actually welcomed this as it gave Olivia a place to sit and stick her feet up to the camera. While I like shots down in the sand and in the surf, there is really only so much you can do where you can still see a girl's feet shooting along the ocean. The water and sand swallow a girl's feet pretty quick during beach sets.
This set ultimately came out quite nice, although the old pier wasn't in the background of as many shots as I had wanted. We had to stay off the top of the breaker as a lifeguard was watching. We weren't supposed to be on it at all actually.
